iseeido is in beta on TestFlight. There’s no public link yet, and it isn’t on the App Store. It used to be called Smart Navigator.

What you need

Adding a place

How do I add a place?

Scan it: on the Maps tab, tap the add button, choose Scan a place, then Indoor or Outdoor. The scan goes straight into your list.

Or bring it from ICIDO: in ICIDO, long-press the place, choose Share, then Save to Files. Then in iseeido, tap the add button on the Maps tab and import the file. Spots you tagged in ICIDO come with it, and become destinations.

Why can’t I scan?

Scanning needs the LiDAR scanner found on the iPhone 12 Pro and later Pro models. On other iPhones the app says so, and you can still import places from ICIDO and navigate to them.

Why won’t it give me directions to a place?

A new place doesn’t know where it is on Earth yet. Open it, line it up on the satellite map, and mark the door. Every map in your list says whether it’s ready to navigate to, or what it still needs.

Do I need to be at the building to line it up?

No. You can line a place up on the satellite map from anywhere: turn the floor plan until its walls agree with the building. The scan sets the scale, so there’s nothing to stretch.

If you are there, you can also calibrate on site. Walk around while iseeido compares where you are in the scan with where you are on the map, to improve the place’s position.

Why mark a door?

Without a door, street directions end at the point where the scan started, which is often the middle of a room. Marking the door makes them end at the way in.

Journeys

How does it go from the street to inside?

When you get close to the door, iseeido shows the approach screen by itself. Tap Start indoor navigation and hold the phone up, camera facing forward, while it recognises where you are. Then it guides you to the spot.

It’s still looking for where I am indoors

Hold the phone up with the camera facing forward and look around slowly. Recognition works best when the place looks the way it did when it was scanned. You can always go back to the map from this screen.

I’m already inside. Do I need a journey?

No. Tap Find me on the Go tab. iseeido works out which of your places you’re in from what the camera sees, trying the nearest first, and guides you from there.

Can I mute the spoken directions?

On the street, the speaker button on the direction banner turns them off. Muting also stops the vibrations for turns on the street.

Does it keep guiding me in the background?

Not yet. Guidance stops when iseeido is in the background or the screen locks, so keep it open, with the screen on, while you travel.

Siri and the voice button

What can I ask Siri?

Siri and Shortcuts need iOS 17 or later.

How does the voice button work?

Indoors, tap the voice button once and ask, for example, where something is. It keeps listening until you tap it again, say “stop”, leave the screen, or stay quiet for two minutes. What you say is turned into text on your iPhone.

Everything else

I deleted a map by mistake

Deleted maps wait in Recently Deleted for 7 days. You’ll find it at the foot of the list on the Maps tab.

How do I see the tour again?

Tap the gear on the Maps tab to open Settings, then choose Show me around.

Why does it say ICIDO in places?

iseeido’s scanning and indoor guidance are ICIDO’s, and in this beta a few of those screens and buttons still use ICIDO’s name.

Do I need an account?

No. iseeido has no accounts. Your places stay on your iPhone, and you can share one yourself as a file. See the privacy policy for what that file contains.
